
Since 2007, Dr. Main has covered the Missouri State High School football playoffs working on the sidelines to provide care to injured players. During the playoff games he has treated a variety of injuries including ACL tears, patella dislocations, concussions, back injuries and IV fluid rehydration treatment.
As part of an ongoing effort to provide immediate care to athletes hurt during play, Midwest Bone & Joint provides assistance to fifteen area high schools in the form of medically trained first responders. They are equipped with basic first aid supplies as well as crutches and braces. The responders also have immediate access to Dr. Main by phone for any questions that might arise.
June 29, 2011, marked the groundbreaking of The Center for Sports Medicine, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Moberly, MO. The 15,638 square foot facility will provide expanded office space for Dr. Main and Midwest Bone & Joint Center as well as a new home for Moberly Regional Medical Center Physical Therapy and Wellness departments. We will offer a full range of orthopedic services including casting and digital x-ray. There will also be a therapeutic pool complete with built in treadmill to speed recovery time. Construction is expected to be complete in April 2012.

Dr. Main attended ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY 2009, the 30th annual Robert W. Metcalf arthroscopy meeting for a total of 42 seminars, which have educated almost 15,000 orthopedic surgeons worldwide. The 2009 program featured practice relevant presentations, shoulder and knee surgery demos and current state-of-the-art ankle, foot and hip arthroscopy. The daily Surgery Demos were simulcast into the lecture hall and along with instructional courses in hip arthroscopy by Carlos A. Guanche, MD, foot and ankle arthroscopy with Charles Saltzman, MD as well as demystifying coding issues with Jack M. Bert, MD. The meeting was attended by the leading arthroscopy and sports medicine surgeons in the country.
Midwest Bone and Joint Center sponsored a Workers Compensation Seminar on October 21, 2008, for local businesses. The seminar included dinner, presentations by Dr. Main, Wanda Leath and Rayma Howell and tours of the facility. The purpose of the seminar was to provide education on the employer level regarding our process of treating the employee in a work comp situation.
The event was well attended with twenty-three representatives from sixteen area businesses.
